L’information en santé publique : caractéristiques et diffusion dans le contexte du libre accès

Abstract : Based upon a number of observations gathered within the documentation, recording and archive department at the Institut de Veille Sanitaire, this essay is an attempt to analyse the information originating from the Public Health agents. The circulation and diffusion modes are described, and the opening of the various kinds of product is examined for the major international agencies. Such investigation exposes the large distribution of information otherwise rather homogeneous in its nature. Issuing from a focus on the publications by InVS authors, the Open Access principles appear more widely in use in the domain of Public Health than they are in other medical or scientific fields. A few perspectives are considered next, concerning the evolution of the diffusion of Public Health informational products.
