Mise en place d'un site dynamique pour optimiser la communication web d'un établissement muséal

Abstract : Nowadays, museums are more and more sensitive to the deep impact of Internet technologies on people's behavior. Their communication policies have to include this new media. The benefits of Internet presence are linked to the new public they can reach: children, students, or passionate Internet users. Thereby, they can also break stereotypes making museums some kind of “ivory towers”. During this work placement, I had the responsibility to create the website of the “Hotel Sandelin Museum”, and I conducted a users-oriented project. This statement describes, step by step, the implementation of the website, from the needs analysis to the online publication. The results of the needs analysis concluded that the CMS (Content Management System) Joomla was appropriate, because the museum intends to communicate, day after day, about its activities. The conception phase of the project revealed that it was necessary to respect some ergonomic rules in order to improve the browsing performance. Finally, the launching of the website highlighted some strategic aspects about communication to the public.
