Amélioration de l'accès aux images fixes par la recherche sur le contenu (CBIR) : panorama des solutions disponibles sur le marché et réflexion sur leur mise en oeuvre par les banques d'images

Abstract : Giving access to resources is a major economic strake for image selling professionals. Any image not found when searching on a shopping web site means a potential risk of losing clients. However, finding easily and quickly implies to add to images information or metadata that are then indexed by search engines. This stage, called indexing3, is currently mainly done manually. Then how to improve the image indexing without an excessive human investment for the professionals? Are there available technologies based on images efficient to enhance the existing indexation? Can these technologies reduce human intervention on images? How mature are these technologies and how can they be implemented? After having define the study perimeter (I) and consider the specificities of images, we present the list of the methods to index images (II), then we establish an overview of Content Based Image Retrieval (CBIR) tools available on the market and present the required conditions to implement these technologies (III).
