Abstract : Through the example of the health sciences Library of the University of Sherbrooke (Québec), this study explains in what and how the health sciences libraries' environments encourage applying a marketing strategy, in comparing the French and Quebecer situations. Many competitions force these libraries to change their position so as to reassert their usefulness and their ability to fulfil their missions. The specificity of health sciences libraries make easier the application of relationship marketing which goal is the exchanges' maximization between users and special libraries.
